Move over Street Fighter, you’re not the only old school brawler with an upcoming movie. MovieSet Blog has revealed the details about the upcoming King of Fighter movie, directed by Gordon Chan and starring Maggie Q, Sean Faris, Will Yun Lee, Francoise Yip, Monique Ganderton and Ray Park (Ray Park played Darth Maul in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace).
The movie will put a spin on the classic brawler by introducing a sci-fi twist where the characters are whisked away to another dimension to battle an evil power (Oh boy). King of Fighters is set for a 2010 release.

"The movie stars Maggie Q (Live Free and Die Hard), Sean Faris (Never Back Down), Will Yun Lee (Elektra), Francoise Yip (Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem), Monique Ganderton (Supernatural) and the coolest Sith Lord ever, Ray Park (a.k.a. Darth Maul from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace). It also looks like the King of Fighters movie will introduce a new science fiction spin into the setting established in the games’ universe by following the surviving members of three legendary fighting clans who are continually whisked away to other dimensions by an evil power."
"As the fighters enter each new world they battle that universe’s native defenders, while the force that brought them seeks to find a way to invade and infect our world. Pardon me while I show how much of a nerd I am but it kind of sounds like a little bit of Highlander and Marvel’s Exiles comic book series. Not that I’m complaining, I’m just sayin’."
"Joseph Chou, Tim Kwok and Bobby Sheng are the film’s producers. The movie is targeted for a 2010 release."
